Liquid bulk cargo includes crude oil, petroleum products, chemicals, and other liquid commodities transported in specialized tankers. These vessels are engineered to simplify loading/unloading and ensure maximum safety.
Loading Process
Loading liquid cargo is a highly controlled procedure involving:
Thorough cleaning and inspection of tanks
Approval from ship officers and terminal inspectors
Monitoring for presence of water or contaminants
Continuous checks of tank ullage, temperature, and inert gas pressure
Safety documentation and hazard warnings for dangerous cargoes

Dry Bulk Cargo
Dry bulk cargo includes unpackaged, homogeneous solid materials transported in bulk carrier ships. These goods are measured in DWT (deadweight tonnage).
